About this How-To:
Honda recommends that you change your Tranny fluid every 30,000 miles or 24 months which ever comes first. It is a very simple procedure.

Tools Needed:
3/8" Socket Wrench
17mm Wrench
Transmission fill spout (basically screws on to your oil container and has a hose so that you can fill the transmission)

Parts Needed:
N/A

Notes:
Keep in mind that if you cannot find Honda MTF, you should use a NON synthetic 10w30 motor oil. Alot of people have tried using synthetic oil and have reported that more often than not it will cause grinding...Save yourself some syncros and dont use Synthetic motor oil for your tranny.

Start off by putting your car on 4 jack stands. Make sure you jack the car up on a level surface and keep the car itself as level as possible. Then locate the drain plug and using a 3/8" ratchet remove the plug and drain the old tranny fluid into a large container.

Once its drained, clean and replace the drain plug. Make sure that you do not over tighten it. Locate the filler hole bolt that is slightly higher up and behind the CV joint. Remove it using a 17mm wrench. Using the filler tube, fill 2.2 quarts of Honda MTF (non synthetic 10w30 oil if Honda MTF is not available). Then replace the filler plug. When you start the engine, you may notice some smoking from the engine compartment. Do not worry, if you have over filled the transmission, a little may have spilled onto a hot area, If you can see where its coming from, wipe it off if not let it burn off. It will stop shortly. That's it!
