3.5.02
This past Saturday, we pulled the engine from
the coupe and put it in the hatch. last Friday
I also picked up a D16Y8 (Single cam VTEC)
engine which will be going back into the coupe
to assist in its journey back to the stock
world. Check out Project 96 hatch for more
info and pictures of the swap
2.28.02
Tomorrow we begin the transformation (a
little early due to the incident with the
96 hatch) back to stock. I will be picking
up an EX engine and removing the GSR engine
tomorrow night.
2.18.02
Well, not much has been happening for Project
99 Hybrid Coupe. I have to break the news
that we will be returning this car back
to stock and selling it. This is mainly
to make room for other project cars as this
car is a very heavy platform the mods would
be best used on a lighter vehicle, namely
Project 96 Hatch. All modifications performed
to this car will be transferred to the 96
Hatch. This basically came from the mindset
of "Anything I that could be done to
the coupe, could be done to the hatch with
better results (Because of the weight difference)".
I will be gathering an extensive amount
of pics and videos with this car before
it is returned to stock and this journal
(Basically the foundation of what this site
came from) will remain on the site for anyone
that would be interested.
9.5.01
Replaced the rear trailing arms, finally
installed the replacement brake lines (Goodrich),
and replaced the rear rotors with Power
Slot rotors to match the front because the
originals were warped from the start. Lesson
learned here is always inspect thoroughly
any parts you buy used or get from the junk
yard because you could end up in a situation
like I did, After doing the rear disc swap,
I found out that the trailing arm bushings
were dry rotted on both sides. So what I
had to do was swap all the components onto
the original arms (which would have been
just as easy to do in the first place) oh
well, now I know that I should pay more
attention to the parts I buy.
